Call in the Professionals (order online) Your first step should always be to seek the advice of a professional installer. All good satellite installers will be able to make a recommendation. The Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) provides training and inspection programmes and its members are able to undertake discreet installations.

cambell and kennedy sky installersA very, very nice man Since the launch of TV and radio via satellite, the Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) has firmly believed that the dish you cannot see does more to promote multi-channel broadcasting than a minidish indiscriminatelymounted for everyone to see. While rooftop aerials and their necessarily prominent position are accepted almost without comment, the visible satellite dish has been the subject of much unmerited prejudice. However, with the advent of digital services via satellite and the introduction of much smaller dishes, the discreetly installed satellite system is the future of TV and radio reception for millions across the UK.

The CAI has a nation-wide membership of installers fully equipped to advise on and install a discreet ASTRA satellite receiving system. The membership is inspected, trained with support from ASTRA, fully insured and is able to provide a first class service to nationally recognised codes of practice and conduct.

Look at the Options By taking the time to have a good look around the house with an installer you may well identify a number of positions where the minidish could be sited in a location that it not easily visible. The orientation of your house is important to the location of the minidish, the back of the roof or at low level on the side of the house can both be ideal positions. All the options should be considered before installation begins.

Dispelling the myth A direct line of sight between your minidish and the ASTRA satellites is required to receive a signal. Providing this can be achieved, prominent positioning of the minidish is not required. To position the minidish discreetly takes a little imagination and an experienced installer, and may in some cases, require more time and additional materials. Consequently, it can cost more than a standard installation but the reduced visual impact will be worth the extra cost as your house will retain its original charm.

sky installationsThe art of camouflage If you have no option but to secure the satellite minidish to the front of your home it may be possible for the installer to disguise it by painting the surface to blend in with the background. For best results, take careful consideration of where the minidish will be seen from and how best to camouflage it from those angles.
